The Onondaga Child Fatality Review Team is a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team whose mission is to reduce preventable child fatalities.
Since 1996, comprehensive reviews of child deaths in Onondaga County have been conducted by tracking and analyzing child death, providing community education based on findings, and keeping children safe.
3,500 babies die every year from unsafe sleep. Every case is preventable.
Placing children alone, on their backs, and in a crib is the safest option for toddlers under the age of 2.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people 15 to 24 years old.
