About Us

Child Fatality Review Teams function under Social Services Law 422b(1). The Onondaga Child Fatality Review Team began meeting in 1996. It now meets monthly to review the death of any child or adolescent 17 years of age or younger. In addition to Onondaga County, the Team serves the counties of Cayuga, Jefferson, Madison, Oswego, Seneca, and Tompkins.

The multidisciplinary Team also uses review findings to analyze patterns of child deaths and makes recommendations for prevention of future fatalities. To view a downloadable copy of the Onondaga Child Fatality Review Team’s annual report, click Annual Reports.
